While all aspects of the Chapel of St. Anthony in the Santo are powerfully presented in this book, the author's parallel aim to chart the more general development of Venetian Renaissance sculpture is less successful.
The Chapel of Saint Anthony is a splendid Renaissance work begun in and completed towards the end of that century. The architect was probably Tullio Lombardo, whose model was adopted by A.
